Cyclist dies after being struck by vehicle that fled scene in Williams County

Authorities are looking for the person responsible for a fatal hit and run in Williams County Thursday morning.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, crews responded to reports of a bicyclist who was struck on US-6 near CR-4-50 around 6:40 a.m.

Upon arrival, the victim was found deceased.

An early investigation from the scene that an unknown vehicle struck the victim and fled the scene. There may be damage to the front right of the vehicle, including the headlight assembly.

No witnesses have been identified. Anybody with information is asked to contact the OSHP at 419-784-1025.

The victim's next of kin has not been made at this time, therefore the identity has not been released.
