      Damage near Elmore confirmed to be caused by a tornado

      <p>The tornado was on the ground for about three-quarters of a mile.</p>

      Survey teams continue to evaluate damage from Sunday night's storms and have confirmed another tornado touchdown in Ottawa County near Elmore.The National Weather Service out of Cleveland says the twister first appeared around 6 p.m., near Yeasting Road and SR 590.

      It reached a maximum wind speed of around 95 mph and grew to between 50 and 75 yards wide at its peak.

      The tornado was on the ground for about three-quarters of a mile.

      The wind speed of 95 mph classifies the tornado as an EF-1 on the Enhanced Fujita Scale.

      Crews have also confirmed tornados in Wood and Lucas counties.
