Authorities in Toledo believe they have more arson investigations on their hands after three daytime blazes in East Toledo Monday.
Fire investigators say the latest intentionally set fire was at a vacant home in the 600-block of Maryland in East Toledo just before Noon. Officials have confirmed it to be arson.
Before the Maryland blaze was set, fire crews were called to the scene of a house fire on Greenwood and Potter. That fire is being investigated as a possible arson.
Less than an hour after the two fires began, crews were on the scene of a second fire at 605 Oswald, just blocks away. Officials say the second blaze is under investigation as possible arson.
Toledo officials have increased a reward being offered for information leading to the arrest of those suspected of setting dozens of fires across the city this year. Two arson fires set early Friday morning in South Toledo forced fire investigators and police to increase the reward for information to $25,000.
According to authorities, there have been over 80 suspicious fires set within the city of Toledo so far in 2010. Many of those fires have been ruled arson and are being investigated as such by city and federal officials, including Monday's fires.
