Mayoral races in several major cities are among a variety of campaigns being waged for local offices around Ohio. The secretary of state's office said there will be more than 1,600 local issues on ballots around Ohio, including 195 school issues.

The first debate between Toledo's mayoral candidates will start Monday evening at 7 p.m. D. Michael Collins and Incumbent Mayor Mike Bell will face-off and address their platforms. WNWO's Jim Blue and radio station, WSPD's Mike Lefebvre will moderate the event.

The application for absentee voting already has started. Requests for absentee voting can be submitted by mail until Nov. 2. Registered voters in Ohio can cast an absentee ballot early by mail or in person without giving any specific reason.
