Defendant Charged with Youth Death Appears in Court
TOLEDO< Ohio (WNWO) —
The defendant who allegedly killed a Toledo youth appears in court Tuesday.
Lucas County prosecutor Jennifer Donovan tells NBC 24 31-year-old Eric Mathis appeared today before Judge Myron Duhart.
On January 1, 2018 police responded to a call at a trailer park at 2410 Nebraska.
Authoirites found an eleven month old boy unresponsive. The youth was taken to a local hospital where he later died.
At Tuesday's proceedings the state seeks additional evidence which includes a final autopsy report.
Mathis is remanded back to the Lucas County jail on $1.5 million bond.
He faces felony charges of aggravated murder with child endangerment as well as felonious assault.
He will next appear in March.
