      Dog dies in stolen vehicle crash outside Sylvania school

      A man driving a stolen vehicle caused a crash that injured at least three people and killed one dog Friday afternoon in Sylvania Township.

      A man driving a stolen vehicle caused a crash that injured at least three people and killed one dog Friday afternoon in Sylvania Township.

      According to witnesses, a man was seen driving erractically down Central Ave. before crashing into another vehicle near King Road around 2:00 p.m. At least two other vehicles were involved in the chain reaction crash.

      Three women with non-life threatening injuries were taken by ambulance to an area hospital. A dog in one of the vehicles was killed.

      Witnesses say the driver of the stolen vehicle exited his car immediately following the crash and attempted to flee the scene. He was tackled to the ground by a bystander after a short foot chase. Sylvania Township Police arrested the man at the scene.

      The intersection of Central and King, just outside Central Elementary School, was shut down while crews worked to clear the scene.
