51 people wanted on domestic violence charges were arrested in a day long sweep by the Lucas County Sheriff's Office and the Toledo Police Department.
The arresting agencies were assisted by the DEA and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation as well as the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office.
Raids from the task force have netted a total of 74 arrests in the last several weeks. During a press conference, Wednesday, in which the arrests were announced, Rodney Hartzell of the U.S. Marshals Office insisted that the work of the task force would not be confined to one day. "We don't do this one day a year, we apprehend these guys daily, we do this all year long," Mr. Hatzell said.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
