A campaign to get drunk drivers off the roads is underway this weekend.
T he Ohio Highway Patrol calls it an enforcement blitz that started Friday and runs through Labor Day. It's part of a national "drive sober or get pulled over" crackdown against drunk drivers in the final weeks of summer.
L aw enforcement through out Lucas county and Northwest Ohio will be taking part in the campaign. More than seven thousand enforcement hours and more than 900 hours of patrols will be dedicated throughout Ohio.
L ast year , nearly 500 people died in drunk driving related crashes, and drunk drivers were involved in 44 percent of fatal accidents in the state.
