Driver in US 23 crash had marijuana in system

GREEN OAK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say the driver of a Toyota Prius who died in a crash that killed four others and injured four in Livingston County had traces of marijuana in his system.

WHMI-FM says Friday a toxicology report released by Green Oak Township police also found THC in the system of 18-year-old Matthew Kolstoe of Okemos, but it hasn't been determined if either played a role in the crash.

Kolstoe was driving the Prius last October when it crossed a U.S. 23 median and smashed into an oncoming Chevy Blazer, killing the driver, 62-year-old Cynthia Skutt of Fremont, Ohio.

Kolstoe's 19-year-old girlfriend, Heather Comstock of Okemos, and 18-year-old Sarina Seger of Williamston were killed. Another passenger survived.

Blazer passenger, 56-year-old Alfred King, also was killed. Three children in the Blazer were injured.
