East Toledo crash kills motorcyclist, not pedestrian

Update: At the scene of a fatal accident in East Toledo, on Thursday night, WNWO learned that the crash had taken the life of a motorcyclist not a pedestrian as was previously reported.

As recently at 9:30 p.m., Toledo Police dispatch say the call came in as a pedestrian accident

Authorities still haven't released any information the victim.

At the scene an SUV also appeared to have been involved in the accident but officials would not confirm if that vehicle was occupied at the time of the crash.

Original report: Toledo dispatch confirms that police are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident in East Toledo.

Officials say the call came in just minutes before 8 p.m., on Thursday, and happened along Seaman near 280.

WNWO has a crew at the scene and will have more information on WNWO News at 11.

Earlier in the day, 42-year-old Isaac Goff of Toledo was critically injured in a pedestrian accident near the intersection of Alexis Road and Lewis Avenue around 2 a.m.

Officials say the driver that hit Goff fled the scene and as of Thursday evening they were still searching for that person.

In Swanton Township, troopers are also searching for a hit-and-run driver who struck a 15-year-old girl walking along State Route 295 near Soul Road late Wednesday night.

According to the Ohio Highway Patrol, Cheyenne Marie Lewis was walking northbound off the right side of the roadway just before 10 p.m. when a "dark colored pickup with a loud exhaust" struck her with the passenger side mirror. Lewis fell to the ground and sustained non-life threatening injuries.

The pickup continued northbound and did not stop. No other information could be given by the victim about the vehicle.
