A possible political upset in Toledo's district 11 state senate seat was avoided when Toledo city councilman Jack Ford was thrown off the November ballot by the Lucas County Board of Elections Thursday.
Incumbent State Senator Edna Brown prepared for the longtime Toledo politician when she heard he was running against her.
"Because of Councilman Ford being in the race, quite frankly I started a little earlier than I would ordinarily. Ordinarily, you really start out campaigning hot and heavy after Labor Day. And I mean we've been out there now maybe six weeks and that's a bit early," explains Brown.
Senator B rown will face off against Republican Ernest McCarthy in the November general election.
