EF-4 tornado claims life of mother and son

The deadly tornado that tore through Wood County Saturday night has cut one Millbury family in half.

Mary Walters and her 4-year-old son, Hayden, are dead while doctors work on Mary's husband, Ryan, and 8-year-old Madison at Toledo hospital. Great young family, little kids. Ryan just needs to be ok. He needs to be ok for his little girl, said Stacy Taylor, one of the Walter TMs neighbors.

The loss is a hard load to bear for those who know the Walters. Survivors like Lake High freshman, Nicole Pennington, was with the family just hours before the tornado hit. I was with (Mary) at church...and so it's just crazy, just the fact that it happened, just can't believe it, said Pennington.

Needless to say, those who live on the Walters' street feel fortunate to be alive and while they pick up after mother natures mess, their minds turn to a higher power to help them grieve and deal with the loss.

Keep them in your prayers because the little girl is just eight years old, said Pennington as tears filled her eyes.
