n elderly man died Thursday after crashing his vehicle into parked boats in Danbury Township.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says 75-year-old John Walsh, of Marblehead, was driving a Chevrolet Blazer east on SR 163 Thursday when his vehicle went off the left side of the road and down an embankment.

The SUV then struck a storm drain before barrelling into four boats parked in a lot.

Walsh was taken by Life Flight to Mercy St. Vincent's Medical Center where he later died from injuries sustained in the crash. Troopers said he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Alcohol is not a factor, according to the OSHP.

The boats struck in the crash received moderate to heavy damage.
