Elderly suspect is at-large after Monroe Co. bank robbery

Thu, 28 Nov 2013 03:48:51 GMT — The Monroe County Sheriff's Office is searching for a suspect, that appears to be an elderly white male, after a robbery at the KeyBank on North Telegraph in Frenchtown Township. The robber walked into the branch, at the corner of North Telegraph & Stewart Road, around 4 p.m. on Wednesday and demanded money from a bank employee. Authorities say he did not show the employee a weapon. but implied that he was armed. The man was given an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene on foot traveling in a southerly direction. The man is described as being approximately 6 feet tall, or slightly larger, and has a medium build. He was last seen wearing a tan coat, gray hooded sweatshirt, dark gray pants, white tennis shoes, and sunglasses. Officials add that the suspect had gray facial hair that's estimated to be only a few days old.
