On Monday afternoon, Wauseon Police identified 90-year-old Virginia McFeters as the woman who was found dead in the snow on Monday morning.
Assistant Wauseon Police Chief William McConnell found McFeters' body.
He went to her house around 9:30 a.m. because a neighbor of McFeters called saying she had left in her car early Monday morning.
"When we got to the location we discovered her car in the driveway but it was unoccupied; we walked about 150 feet from her vehicle and found her in the snow," McConnell said.
Police said McFeters' car became stuck in the snow, so she tried walking back to her home. That's where she slipped and fell.
Wauseon was under a Level III snow emergency at the time.
"It was dangerously cold at that time and I don't know what was her motivation in going out," McConnell said.
