Elderly woman killed in home shot 3 times, still no suspects

Fannie Mae Smith, 81, was shot three times in her home on Tuesday.

Toledo's first murder victim of 2012 was shot at least three times, according to published reports.

A report from the Lucas County deputy coroner says bullets struck 81-year-old Fannie Mae Smith in her chest, abdomen and left arm.

Smith was watching TV in her home on Fulton Street when the shooter fired at her through a window on Tuesday. She died shortly after paramedics transported her to the hospital.

Police have not released a suspect but said her death was not a "random act."
