Ethnic food and camel rides at International Festival

This weekend, the 13th annual International Festival is taking place at the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo.

The multi-cultural festival represents nearly 20 ethnicities, and with over 100 varieties of food, games, camel rides, a zip line, tours of the Center and petting zoos, there is something for everybody.

Ahmad Taouil, the Festival Chairman, commented on how important this festival is, especially this year. Taouil said, "It has been about 1 year since the fire at the Center. We are slowly bringing in people. This is our big hurrah, our grand re-opening."

For many, this will be the first time they have sent the Center since an act of arson heavily damaged the mosque last year.

"Last year we had 10,000 people attend, this year we expect more than that," Taouil said.

The festival lasts from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
