Two teens were killed in a crash on State Route 578 just North of US-24 Wednesday Morning just after midnight. Troopers say, 17-year-old Jacob Polen and 18-year-old David Todd were killed after the car they were riding in driven by 56-year-old Glenn Walbolt crashed into a utility pole.
Todd TMs family told NBC24 TMs David Custer that he was a good uncle and will be missed. His friend, Jessica Henneman, said she had known Todd her entire life and she can TMt believe it happened to him. Really nice kid. It sucks this happened to him at such a young age.
Polen TMs best friend since 6th grade, Robert Hart, was at a loss for words but said this, Jake was full of energy and every time I was around him, there wasn TMt one time I wouldn TMt laugh.
Polen TMs mother didn TMt want to talk on camera but told us, he was a good boy.
The driver of the car, Glenn Walbolt, lived next to Polen and across the street from Todd. He was treated at University of Toledo Medical Center.
Troopers say none of the passengers were wearing their seatbelts and they believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
A memorial fund has been set up to help the Todd family with funeral expenses. Donations can be made to the David Todd Memorial Fund at any Fifth-Third Bank branch.
