On Tuesday authorities in Lenawee County identified the remains that were found in an abandoned barn as those of Catherine Sackrider. The 58-year-old Indiana resident had been missing since mid September. In a press release Lenawee County Sheriff Jack Welsh said the autopsy did not determine a cause of death. Authorities have not determined exactly where Sackrider died. The Lenawee County Sheriff's Office is working with the Sylvania Township Police Department and the LaGrange County(Indiana) Sheriff's Office.
Sackrider was last seen on September 18 when she was visiting relatives in Sylvania. A missing persons report was filed in Indiana on September 24 and her pickup truck was found the next day in Whetstone Park in Sylvania. Marcia Logan lives across the street and does remember seeing the pickup truck in the parking lot at Whetstone Park. "I remember seeing the truck parked there the night before the police came to the neighborhood," Ms. Logan said.
Anyone with any information on this case should call the Sylvania Township Police Department at 419-882-1250.
