Fighting dogs seized from Monroe Co. home at center of court battle

Four pit bulls seized in a March raid on a suspected dog fighting ring have been returned to Monroe County Animal Control.

The dogs were being kept at a kennel in Romulus.

They're at the center of a courtroom fight between Monroe County law enforcement officials and two animal rescue organizations that have been trying to save them from being euthanized.

Back in March, 9 dogs were taken, and more than 2 dozen people were arrested during a raid at a home on Ida-Maybee Road in Raisinville.

The Monroe County Sheriff wants the dogs euthanized because he considers them "a danger to the public". However the rescue groups want to save them.

A decision on their fate could come this week.

What do you think should happen to the dogs? Saved or Euthanized? Post your comments below.
