Friends and family of east Toledo toddler, Elaina Steinfurth, gather to say goodbye Friday.
Visitation for Baby Elaina is being held Friday afternoon ahead of funeral services and a burial set to take place Saturday. Services will take place at Eggleston, Meinert & Pavely Funeral Home.
The girl, who had been missing since June 2, is being laid to rest three weeks after police found her body inside an east Toledo garage at the home where she was last seen.
Angela Steinfurth and her ex-boyfriend, Steven King, were the last two people to see the child alive. Both are facing obstruction of justice charges in Baby Elaina's disappearance.
Earlier this week, a "Motion for Funeral Furlough" was made on Angela's behalf. The mother is being held in the Lucas County Jail and requested to attend her daughter's funeral. That request was denied.
The funeral home has offered their services to the Steinfurth family free of charge. "We made a call to them and said we would provide services to lay their little girl to rest," says funeral home director Larry Schaffer.
Services for Elaina are open to the public. Visitiation is scheduled for 2-8 p.m. Friday. The funeral will take place Saturday at 10:30 a.m. immediately followed by a burial at Lake Township Cemetery.
