A delegation from Hancock County met with the US Army Corps of Engineers this week in Buffalo to discuss tentaive plans to reduce flooding from the Blanchard River. Steve Wilson, the Project Manager for the Hancock County Commissioners was part of the delegation. "We are still looking at a western diversion channel that would divert the flow of water from Eagle Creek away from downtown Findlay and move it downstream along the Blanchard," Mr. Wilson said.
Hancock County Commissioner Brian Robertson says residents can expect to see some work to be done along the Blanchard later this year. "This fall we will start a $1M cleanup of the river for the first time in 20 years," Mr. Robertson said.
