Findlay Officers concerned after homicides occur just seven days apart

TOLEDO,OH. (WNWO)--

On Sunday at midnight fifty-six-year old Jeffrey Gary was found at his home suffering from gun shot wounds .

Findlay Police received a call from his home at the 1300 block of Fox street Sunday just after midnight.

"The [witness] reported seeing several people with masks, they entered the house and the crime occurred and then they left on foot," sai Lieutenant Robert Ring of the Findlay Police Department.

Gary's death comes within just one week of 28 year-old Danielle Rice. Her body was found in ditch in Hancock County. Neighbor Mark Keeran lives right near the spot where a walker discovered it.

" I have a 150-pound German Sheppard, whoever did that just dumped her and took off because he hears everything," said Keeran.

Both cases remain unsolved. While law enforcement say they doubt the two are connected, there are similarities.

Both victims lived what police described as "high risk lifestyles". Gang or drug activity has not been ruled out in either case. A family friend said via Facebook Ryce struggled with drug addiction.Neighbor Eric Gonyer says the house on Fox Street was constantly moving.

Because both crimes happened in a short time span, Police say it's difficult to track a suspect.
