Findlay Police to provide safety plan in case of school shooting

The one-hour event will take place Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Donnell Middle School in the cafeteria

The Findlay Police Department plans to provide its second training session Thursday evening on a safety plan in case of an active shooter in the school.

The event will take place at 7 p.m. at Glenwood Middle School cafeteria for an hour-long session, according to the police's Facebook post.

The techniques correspond with a new safety philosophy called A.L.i.C.E. that was taught to the Findlay City School teachers and school administration. Students will receive instruction starting January 2014.

Four officers, who have been trained on the safety plan, will present it to the community and answer any of the public's questions.
