Fire officials ask for help in Toledo arson investigations

Fire officials in Toledo are asking for the public's help in their investigation of several suspicious fires that have occurred in the city in recent months.

Toledo Fire & Rescue is investigating at least 15 fires within the city that they believe may have been arson. A grant was recently secured by the department to offer a reward of up to $10,000 for anyone who is able to provide information leading to the arrest of any individuals involved in the fires being investigated.

According to Deputy Chief Phil Cervantes, the amount of suspicious fires are piling up what we TMre seeing now is we TMre being flooded with investigations that are related to the different arson fires. The chief says some of the more recent fires on the east side have been set during the day.

The majority of fires have been set to vacant homes. The department is also seeing multiple fires occurring at the same time. This causes a delay in response times for calls and an increase in reliance on other stations.

If you have information regarding any of the following fires, please contact Toledo Police Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111. You may remain anonymous.
