Authorities directed traffic away early Wednesday morning as firefighters battled the blaze at a Chili's restaurant off Airport Highway.

Dispatchers say the Springfield Township Fire Department was dispatched to the restaurant, near the Spring Meadows Shopping Center around 12:30 a.m.

A witness reported seeing "large" flames coming from the building as crews from three departments worked to get the situation under control.

Officials said no one was injured.

No word yet on what caused the fire, but Springfield Township Fire Chief Barry Cousino says there were problems with the building earlier in the evening.

The restaurant sustained extensive damage to the interior and will have to shut down temporarily.
