Firefighters rescue three from Sandusky River

Ballville Volunteer Firefighters used a fan boat to pull three victims from the Sandusky River on Monday evening.

Three people had to be rescued Monday evening after plunging into the Sandusky River.

Officials from the Fremont Fire Department, who assisted in the rescue, told WNWO the victims were first spotted in the water near the River Cliff Golf Course around 7:30 p.m.

Ballville Volunteer Firefighters used a fan boat to pull the first two victims out of the water. A third victim floated about three miles downstream and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Authorities believe the trio started off in a canoe.
