Firefighters rush to extinguish flames at central Toledo house fire

A house fire broke out on Woodland Avenue Tuesday night that fire crews believe began on the second floor.

The Toledo Fire Department responded to a house fire Tuesday night on the 900 block of Woodland Avenue.

911 dispatchers reported heavy flames coming from the home around 9:30 p.m. The fire is thought to have started on the second floor where crews were still fighting flare-ups when WNWO arrived at the scene. The home was empty and there were no injuries. The cause of the blaze is currently unknown.

According to neighbors, the owner is believed to live in Detroit and the house is thought to be a group home.
