Fisherman getting ready for Walleye Run


The walleye run is an annual tradition that sends avid fisherman to the Maumee River hoping for a big catch.

opefully, I catch my limit every time. I come out here, some days it's difficult. Hopefully, I'm ready to go this year, so I'm ready to find them," explained fisherman Neil Cullen.

ullen won't be alone. Beautiful warm spring temperatures brought out a good crowd Wednesday afternoon especially following a brutal winter, including Gary Lowry, co-owner of Maumee Tackle in Maumee.

he run started a month late, so when that water temperature started approaching 40 degrees, we started seeing some action

said Lowry.
