The walleye run is an annual tradition that sends avid fisherman to the Maumee River hoping for a big catch.
" H opefully, I catch my limit every time. I come out here, some days it's difficult. Hopefully, I'm ready to go this year, so I'm ready to find them," explained fisherman Neil Cullen.
C ullen won't be alone. Beautiful warm spring temperatures brought out a good crowd Wednesday afternoon especially following a brutal winter, including Gary Lowry, co-owner of Maumee Tackle in Maumee.
" T he run started a month late, so when that water temperature started approaching 40 degrees, we started seeing some action , " said Lowry.
L owry added the key to a good fishing season starts with water temperature.
