A body has never been found, but a Florida man has been convicted of killing a Holland native who disappeared nearly four years ago.
44-year-old Stobert Lindell-Holt was found guilty last week of manslaughter, extortion and writing threats to kill or do bodily harm. Holt could get up to 45 years in prison when sentenced.
Authorities say Holt abducted Robert Wiles from his family business in Lakeland, Florida in April of 2008.
Shortly after his disappearance Wiles' family received a ransom demand of $750,000.
Wiles' father, Thomas paid the money but his son was never returned and his body has never been found. The FBI believes he's dead.
Wiles and Holt worked together at the victim's family business, National Flight Services which is based out of Toledo Express Airport but has an operation at the Lakeland airport.
