Patients at ProMedica Flower Hospital can continue to use Medicaid and Medicare as a form of payment. The United States Department of Health and Human Services has accepted a plan by Flower Hospital, meaning the hospital will be allowed to continue accepting Medicaid and Medicare.
The hospital had been in jeopardy of losing the ability to accept payment from the programs after an alleged breach of patient privacy from an May 1 incident. Payments could have been cut off as soon as May 9 if a plan to correct the problem was not accepted.
A team from the Health and Human Services Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services will visit the hospital to ensure that the problem has been corrected.
