Health officials are responding to an increase demand for flu vaccinations by setting up more flu-shot clinics.
Residents have been getting vaccinated after an influx of flu-related reports in Lenawee County.
Commissioner Dr. Dennis Chernin of the Lenawee County Health Department said the new strain is affecting a new demographic of people.
Officials issued a report last week that revealed almost 500 cases of influenza this season, including 39 lab-confirmed cases.
Lenawee County Health Department set up a flu-shot clinic Thursday, Jan. 23 from 8 a.m. to noon. If you can't make that date, another flu-shot clinic is scheduled next week, Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Residents can call 517-264-5226 for an appointment. During the week, they can attend the regular Wednesday immunization clinic to get a flu-shot.
Everyone older than 6 months are encouraged to get a flu vaccination.
