People who used food stamp debit cards had a temporary hold on their cards during the weekend because of a computer glitch in the system.
People from about 17 other states including Ohio and Michigan had been affected after reports of a routine check on electronic payment system. The electronic payment system, Xerox, crashed during Saturday.
Michiganâ??s Human Services Department said the glitch has been fixed on Sunday.
A spokeswoman from the U.S. Department of Agriculture said the outage was unrelated to federal government shutdown.
Other states were impacted including Illinois, Alabama, California, Georgia, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Maryland, Mississippi, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia.
