Fostoria fire chief charged with domestic violence

Brian Anderson

Authorities in Wood County have arrested and charged Fostoria's interim fire chief after he allegedly beat his wife and set her clothes on fire.

Brian Anderson, 45, has been released from jail and is awaiting arraignment next month after being charged with domestic violence against his wife, Amanda Anderson, 33.

Investigators say Anderson hit his wife around midnight Monday after she found text messages on a cell phone in his possession. His wife told authorities that after striking her in the face, Anderson gathered several of her clothes, dumped them in the driveway of their home, doused them with gasoline and lit them on fire. He then fled the home on foot.

Anderson was located and arrrested by Fostoria Police a short time later. He has since been demoted and suspended from his position as interim fire chief.
