Glenwood Elem. principal indicted on child porn charges

      William Buzzell

The Rossford Schools District has begun the process of finding an interim principal to run Glenwood Elementary School in the wake of the indefinite suspension of William Buzzell.

On Wednesday, Buzzell was indicted by a Wood County grand jury on three charges of Pandering Sexually-Oriented Material Involving a Minor. The indictment comes one day after Buzzell was arrested at his home following a raid by Perrysburg Police and the FBI. Authorities say that Buzzell was in possession of sexually graphic pictures of children.

Buzzell was hired as principal of Glenwood in June 2000. His contract has been renewed twice. His 2011 salary is in excess of $98,000. Read Buzzell's personnel file

Buzzell's attorney asked a judge to lower his client's bond but Bowling Green Municipal Judge Mark Reddin ordered Buzzell to continue to be held in lieu of $90,000 bond.

Rossford Schools Superintendent Dr. Susan Lang says she does not feel deceived or betrayed after allegations arose against Buzzell. She does, however, say she is disappointed. "I was shocked and disheartened and we are taking this very, very seriously in our district."
