Good samaritan electrocuted trying to help Putnam Co. accident victim

A Putnam County man trying to help an accident victim ended up dying because of his good deeds.

State troopers say around 1am Saturday morning a drunk driver slammed into a pole along State Route 114 just north of Kalida in Putnam County.

They say 43-year-old Michael Feldman heard the crash at his home and came out to check out the scene.

They say he accidentally stepped on a live power line that had fallen and was electrocuted. He died at the scene.

Troopers say the driver was not hurt. So far no charges have been filed but alcohol and speed appear to have played a role in the accident.
