The government shutdown continues to impact people across the county, including beer makers.
Since the shutdown, an agency within the Treasury department, the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau, has not been able to process applications for new beer recipes and labels.
That's bad news for Flat Rock brewery in Holgate. The owner, Lawrence Pritchard, tells WNWO he had plans to introduce a new beer this Christmas and now the shutdown could cost him thousands in lost revenue.
"If we can't get labels approved...we can't have new beers to kind of keep things fresh," said Pritchard. "It kind of hurts that because people are going to say 'we're not going to drive for 5 or 6 beers they already have."
Pritchard says he plans to bring back a beer used when the brewery opened last December.
