Ohio Governor Jon Kasich rolled into the North American International Auto Show on Tuesday, to take a look at the hottest new models in the industry.
Kasich led the media through the showroom as he toured the Chevrolet, GMC, and Chrysler exhibits. He learned about models such as the Corvette, Charger, and even electric-powered vehicles like the Chevrolet Volt.
â??I think shorter term, to me, itâ??s hybrids and C.N.G. vehicles that companies are going to be focused on,â?? said Kasich. He added, â??In the future youâ??re going to see an incredible addition of aids to help drivers be safe.â??
The governor alluded to the stateâ??s â??aggressive agendaâ?? to help continue the growth of the auto industry in Ohio. He described a good working partnership with Chrysler as a stimulus to the industry.
â??Heâ??s excited about Toledo,â?? Kasich said of Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne. â??Of the workforce to understand the principles that the company itself has to promote.â??
Kasich marveled at the grandeur of the NAIAS, and the hard work of the event staff and organizers. He called the auto industry â??As American as Apple Pie.â??
