Haircuts making a difference for one woman fighting Stage 4 cancer

Johnna watches her daughter get a haircut.

Those who came in for the â??hair-a-thonâ?? at Studio 51 this weekend, left the salon with a new do that helped make a difference in a person's life.

The salon on Monroe Street gave all of those proceeds to a woman diagnosed with breast cancer.

More than a year ago in September, Johnna Westrick was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma that spread to her liver.

â??There has been a ton of support,â?? Westrick said. â??There have been a lot of people who have come out to help us.â??

Every third week, over the course of two months, Johnna has undergone chemotherapy. â??I am pretty much out of it for a few days, so (the donations) help with dinner and help my husband keep things going,â?? she said.

Anyone wanting to help can attend a roast beef dinner fundraiser for Johnna on Friday, Jan. 17, in Petersburg, Mich.
