If you and your family are looking to have some Halloween fun for a good cause, a weekend event at the Toledo Club might just be the ticket.
Costumes for Cancer takes place at the Toledo Club this Saturday. In its seventh year, the family event benefits The Janet Phleger Foundation which supports students with family members stricken by cancer.
"(The foundation) provides college scholarships for any Lucas County student that has had a parent diagnosed with cancer," said Jen Brouwer, Executive Director of The Janet Phleger Foundation.
Saturday's event brings together families and students currently benefitting from the foundation's scholarships. Two students have been awarded $3,000 scholarships this year, and the event gives them a chance to meet and thank the people who make it all possible.
This year's event will be fun for the entire family, with games, activities and prizes for kids, and a separate party-room for adults, complete with cash-bar and silent auction.
Among the items up for bid at the silent auction is a morning reporting the weather forecast on WNWO Today alongside meteorologist Jon James.
Costumes for Cancer takes place Saturday, Oct. 19 from 6-10 p.m. at the Toledo Club, 235 14th St. in downtown Toledo. Advanced tickets are $15, Children under 5 are $10. Tickets at the door are $20.
