Monroe County Health Department canceled its health advisory at Luna Pier Beach Friday afternoon.
The department collected water samples during the week that showed the water quality exceeded amount of bacteria to pass health standards. It continued a follow-up testings Thursday that revealed the water samples have "safe, acceptable" standards for public swimming.
A report released at the end of June revealed Ohio beaches ranked 30th out of 30 in water quality. The National Resources Defense Council monitored about 60 public beaches near the Lake Erie shorelines.
