Heat Advisory Kicks In...
Wed, 17 Jul 2013 12:52:52 GMT —
The hottest day of the year for us today and the 1st Heat Advisory of the year goes into effect from 1 - 9pm later today.
It's hard to believe that it will be hotter today than what we have seen so far this week but that is the case. Skies will be partly cloudy this afternoon with highs climbing into the low and mid 90's and Heat Indices climb into the triple-digits!
The duration of this heat wave is what is unusual - but not so much the heat we will be experiencing today. We won't be approaching record territory today as last year we set a record high temp for 7/17 when we hit 100 degrees at Toledo Express Airport!
I believe we will see additional Heat Advisories issued tomorrow and Friday as we remain in the pressure cooker until a cold front arrives Friday night/Saturday. That front will give a narrow band of widespread showers and storms overnight and deliver sunshine, cooler temps and lower humidity values for your Saturday afternoon and Sunday as high temps actually go below seasonal norms - into the lower 80's.
So hang in there and stay hydrated today, tomorrow and Friday. Just look forward to a comfortable weekend.
