A heightened police presence can be expected at North Baltimore schools.
Thatâ??s after the superintendent received an anonymous, non-specific â?? threateningâ?? letter this week. Superintendent Marlene K. North said the letter didnâ??t make a specific threat, but she contacted authorities right away.
The school's website posted an alert notice on Thursday, stating police officers will patrol the school buildings and surrounding areas. North said the school is taking precautionary steps these upcoming weeks.
"In addition, the staff has been put on alert. Please know that if there is any perceived threat to the safety and well-being of our students and staff, we will proceed accordingly," North said.
North Baltimore Police and Wood County Sheriff's Office are involved in the alert.
