High school hosts donkey basketball game without protest

Northview Juniors go up against school staff in donkey basketball.

onkey basketball has made a return appearance in northwest Ohio, one year after an animal rights group tried to stop it.

Juniors at Sylvania Northview High School hosted a basketball game against school staff Monday night. Players moved up and down the court on donkeys.

The fundraiser will help pay for next year's prom.

Last year, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) demanded that Lake Local Schools cancel a planned donkey basketball fundraiser, while many others signed an online petition against the event.

Monday's event in Sylvania saw no protests.
