A high-speed police chase that continued into Michigan has come to an end Thursday morning.
Authorities said the call came in as a robbery shortly after 3 a.m. in the 600 block of Howland. Toledo Police allege two male suspects robbed a woman of her purse. The victim's husband chased the suspects on foot after the suspects fired shots back at him.
That's when the police arrived on scene, and the chase started.
The suspects took police through the city and into Michigan and ended in Monroe County. Deputies at Monroe County Sheriff's Office set up stop sticks north of Laplaisance Road. The suspect's vehicle crashed at the exit ramp at Front Street on I-75 according to the police report.
Officials said the suspects are in custody and face criminal charges. The driver is charged with fleeing and eluding police. The passenger is being charged with receiving and concealing stolen property.
Trucks have towed the SUV used in the chase.
