Holland teen injured in dump truck crash

A 19-year-old is recovering after colliding with a dump truck in Perrysburg on Thursday morning.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Christopher Campbell was traveling westbound on Ayers Road when he failed to yield to a northbound dump truck while turning left onto Oregon Road. After impact, the truck went off the west side of the roadway while Campbell's vehicle traveled east.

The truck driver, 28-year-old Daryl Lewis, was taken to an area hospital for minor neck, back and head injuries. Campbell was trapped in his vehicle and had to be extricated by Perrysburg Township Fire and Rescue. He was then transported to a Toledo hospital via Life Flight helicopter for severe, but non-life threating injuries, according to the patrol's media release.

Perrysburg Township Police Department and Perrysburg Township Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene.
