Home invasion suspect arrested after car and foot chase

The Monroe County Sheriffâ??s Office says they've apprehended a home invasion suspect.

Around 3 p.m., Wednesday afternoon, authorities were dispatched to the Inverness Mobile Home Community for a possible home invasion.

After arriving at the scene, officials learned that the suspect had fled the scene in a tan Chevrolet Monte Carlo.

A deputy quickly located the getaway car and attempted to stop the suspect who allegedly took off in the vehicle.

According to police, after a high-speed chase the suspect the parked the vehicle at Lewis Avenue and Smith Road and then fled on foot.

Using a K-9, authorities then tracked the suspect over a mile through subdivisions, wooded areas, and fields.

They eventually found the suspect hiding at the Rolled Alloys facility on Sterns Road.

The suspect is described as a 36-year-old Temperance man but his name will not be released until he's arraigned on Thursday.

The man has been charged with Home Invasion, Fleeing and Eluding, and Resisting Arrest.
