Homeless Monroe Co. teen charged in attempted kidnapping

Tue, 17 Jun 2014 20:59:44 GMT — A homeless teen made a court appearance Tuesday morning in connection with the attempted kidnapping of a 7-year-old boy.18-year-old Devin Turner was arraigned on charges of attempted unlawful imprisonment.Monroe County Sheriff's deputies said that the incident happened Saturday afternoon in a wooded lot in Monroe Township. Detectives said the kidnapping was prevented, when a 14-year-old boy saw the suspect trying to drag the victim into the woods.The teen raced to help the younger boy, pushed the suspect and fled with the victim along with a group of other boys.The judge set a bond at $100,000. He is currently being held in the Monroe County Jail. Turner is scheduled for another hearing on Monday, June 30 at 10 a.m. in Monroe First District Court.
