The National Council on Skin Cancer Prevention has designated the Friday before Memorial Day as 'Don't Fry Day."
According to the American Cancer Association, ultraviolet rays â?? from the sun and other sources like tanning beds â?? are the primary cause of skin cancer, the most common cancer in the United States.
The NCSCP recommends trying these tips to help shield yourself against the sun's harmful rays:

- Seek Shade
- Wear Sun-Protective Clothing
- Generously Apply Sunscreen
- Use Extra Caution Near Water, Snow, and Sand
