Humane Ohio offers free rabies vaccine

Dr. Kelly Rada of Humane Ohio brought two kittens to the WNWO Today set.

On the fifth annual World Rabies Day, Humane Ohio came on WNWO Today to discuss its upcoming rabies clinic.

"Rabies is a preventable disease, but unfortunately it's fatal," Dr. Kelly Rada said.

Humane Ohio plans to give out free rabies vaccine for cats and dogs from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m. on Sat., Oct. 1, 2011. The event takes place in Toledo at Walbridge Park (2801 Broadway).

No registration is required and pet owners will receive a tag for each pet vaccinated, the group said.
